Malaysian honoured by World Maritime University of Sweden

Malaysian Ambassador in Singapore, Datuk Dr Azfar Mohamad Mustafar has been honored by his former school which is The World Maritime University (WMU) of Sweden.He was awarded his "Outstanding Alumnus Awards" in recognition of his unique contribution to the maritime industry both nationally and internationally.Based on Bernama, Azfar is the first Malaysian to be awarded this prestigious honor.

The award was presented in appreciation of his long and distinguished career in the government to Malaysia's Government of Malaysia and his efforts to promote international cooperation on maritime problems through constructive discussion stated WMU via its web site.He was awarded the prize at his participation in the WMU Graduation Ceremony 2022, which was held at Malmo, Sweden, on Oct 31, 2022.

Azfar received Azfar earned his Master in Science in maritime Affairs at the WMU in 2001. He then received the PhD in Maritime Law from the University of Wales, Swansea, United Kingdom, in 2011.WMU was established around 1983 under the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) which is a special agency of the United Nations, as its top centre of excellence for postgraduate maritime education research, capacity building and research.
